FamilyThe Children’s Program provides a comprehensive system of care for youth experiencing emotional, behavioral, or substance use difficulties in their life, as well as education and support for family members. We offer over 12 programs for youth ages 0 to 18 (or up to 21 if still in school) and their families through a continuum of services including psychiatry, mental health counseling, substance abuse counseling, family counseling, case management, respite and case aid services, school-based services, behavioral consultation services, summer therapeutic programs, crisis response and emergency respite services, CUPS - a mental health program for young children up to six years old, and JOBS - an employment assistance program for youth in transition who have significant emotional disturbances.

In addition to providing comprehensive services for youth and families in our four outpatient locations, we work in collaboration with early childhood services, and we provide school-based clinicians, interventionists, and/or student assistance counselors to over 50 public and alternative schools. Services are provided in the home, in the community, and in the schools.

Children's Mental Health and Substance Use Outpatient Services

HCRS offers outpatient services for children with mental health, behavior, and/or substance use problems. Each outpatient office has a specialized evaluation and treatment team which meets with new clients, listens to clients' needs or concerns, develops a diagnostic assessment, and provides an individualized treatment plan for each youth. Our team works with youth and family members to ensure clients benefit from a continuum of services provided by HCRS programs. Substance use services are also available through the Children’s Program and our WRAP program to screen and evaluate clients for possible co-occurring problems involving mental health and substance use concern. Staff members work directly with youth, their parents, schools, and the community to help young people achieve the highest level of happiness and functioning.

Psychiatric Services

Outpatient psychiatric assessment, counseling, and medication services are available to youth who are receiving services through HCRS’ Children’s Program. Our board-certified child psychiatrists are available in each outpatient office and function as members of the Children’s multidisciplinary treatment team.

Counseling Services

Outpatient counseling services include individual, group and family counseling in a confidential and safe environment. Staff include clinicians with Master degrees in psychology, social work, and mental health counseling.
