Both the individual therapy and the women's group have been VERY helpful and yield lots of suggestions as well as food for thought. The women's group has been especially beneficial in that I've learned I am not the only one with problems and it has shown camaraderie, understanding, and friendship.

HCRS is seeking individuals or couples in Southern Vermont (Windham and Windsor County) willing to open their home to a 28 year old young lady in need of housing and positive relationships. This person has a limited use of words to communicate, and is able to follow 3-4 step requests. She can often be seen as bright eyed and smiling. She is ambulatory, but does best when there are only a few stairs; and requires supports to be within arm’s reach to support her while in the community due to her debilitating fear of new people and places. She is frightened of dogs, though a calm dog could be possibly be introduced. She sleeps well through the night, and requires support with taking daily medications in the area of general health and psychiatric need.

An extra bedroom and time to provide support is a must. A valid driver’s license and insurance is required. You will receive training and case management support. A generous tax-free stipend of $39,000 also provided. This person is in urgent need of a home.
