HCRS recently hired Steven Klein as its new Developmental Services (DS) Director. Formerly from Albany, New York, Steve moved to Vermont to manage HCRS’ DS program which provides services and supports for over 500 individuals with developmental disabilities each year.
Influenced by the challenges of his brother who has a developmental disability, Steve began working in the DS field over 20 years ago. He began his career in New York City in the early 1980’s as a direct care worker. In the late 80’s he relocated to Albany where he held various management level positions in the DS field. He has a Masters in Public Administration and a Bachelors degree in Psychology.
Steve is excited about his new position and appreciates the innovative and community focused services he is seeing in Vermont. He further explains, “I am very impressed with the high quality, dedicated staff and leadership here at HCRS.”
