HCRS Receives Governor’s Worksite Wellness Award

HCRS received the Governor’s 2018 Excellence in Worksite Wellness Award for the fifth year in a row. The agency focuses significant resources each year on the health and wellness of its more than 550 employees.

HCRS’ ability to successfully win the Gold Level Worksite Wellness Award begins with the development of our Wellness Program Strategic Plan which sets our glide path for the coming year outlining the programs and initiatives we will offer for employees and their families. To encourage participation in wellness activities, HCRS offers a very generous Wellness Incentive Program ranging from $500 for an employee up to $1,000 for employee and family. These funds can be used for any out-of-pocket health, dental, or vision expenses as well as other wellness related items such as gym memberships or running shoes. HCRS promotes wellness throughout the year with activities such as yoga and healthy nutrition, an annual wellness fair that includes biometric screenings, and wellness related articles in our monthly staff newsletter. The agency’s wellness plan helps to inspire and support employees to embrace healthy habits and live a healthy lifestyle.

The Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports recognized the award winners at the 2019 Worksite Wellness Conference in Burlington on March 21.
