HCRS is hosting a free training for parents and community members presented by Prevent Child Abuse Vermont (PCAV). The training will focus on helping child care providers and others to recognize the signs of child sexual abuse and to overcome difficulties when reporting their suspicions.
The training will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2012, from 9:00 am – 12:00 noon at HCRS’ Headquarters located at 390 River Street in Springfield.
This training describes children’s normal sexual behavior and signs of abuse, examples of common boundary violations and pre-offending behaviors, skill development addressing when and how to confront pre-offending behavior, barriers to reporting and intervening, mandated reporting tips, offender attitudes and behaviors, and bystander roles.
