Come join the Brattleboro Buddy Walk on October 4, 2014 at 10:00 am on the Brattleboro Common. The Buddy Walk was developed by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1955 to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October and to promote acceptance and community inclusion of people with Down syndrome.
This is the 6th annual Buddy Walk in Brattleboro. The event will include many special activities for families, various vendors from the community, raffle prizes, music and, of course, a one-mile walk through the beautiful streets of downtown Brattleboro. The Vermont Country Deli has generously donated lunch for participants.
Please consider joining us in this wonderful celebration. To register simply visit www.BrattleboroBuddyWalk.org. All money raised from this year’s walk will be donated to The Inclusion Center in Brattleboro. The Center has been operating one day a week out of the Senior Center and one day at the library. They are searching, and are close to finding, a location to utilize at least three days per week. This is a place for anyone with disabilities and all interested community members. They offer classes, socialization, and recreational activities.
